Do you have cracked, chipped, misshapen, worn, crooked, gapped, or discolored teeth? These flaws can negatively impact your smile and your self-esteem. If you would like to hide these flaws, you may be a good candidate for dental veneers.
What are veneers? Veneers are thin shells, essentially laminates, that cover the outer layer of your teeth and hide your minor flaws. They are stain-resistant, which makes them a perfect long-term whitening solution.
We use some of the best dental technology available to provide you with custom veneers that look and shine like your natural teeth. If you need only one or a few veneers, we will match the color of your veneers to your other teeth. If your cosmetic dental veneers will cover your entire smile, we will even let you choose how bright you want them.
Your Houston, TX cosmetic dentist office offers two types of veneers: porcelain veneers and Lumineers veneers.
Porcelain veneers look just like your natural tooth enamel, unlike the inferior materials many other cosmetic dentists in Houston use. Our porcelain veneers will give you a beautiful, radiant smile in just a few dental visits.
If one of our cosmetic dentists determines that you are a candidate for porcelain dental veneers, they will begin by planning your new smile. First, we will take images with our cutting-edge digital X-ray machine. We will also take dental impressions. We will send these to a dental lab that will create your custom-made veneers. Before sending them off, we can even give you a sneak peek of your new smile to make any necessary final adjustments.
Next, our dentist will prepare your teeth by trimming your enamel. This will ensure a comfortable fit for your new veneers. Depending on how much we trim, we may give you temporary veneers to protect your prepared teeth. We can do this preparation process under local anesthesia and can offer sedation if you are especially nervous or anxious.
Once the lab has crafted your new porcelain veneers, we will then bond them to your teeth using an incredibly strong adhesive. Then, you will be showing off your new, bright, healthy-looking smile!
Lumineers are a trusted type of veneer that have been around for more than 30 years. They provide many of the same benefits as porcelain veneers but also have their own unique advantages.
Painless: Lumineers are a much thinner veneer, so they often do not require anesthesia to numb you during preparation. They will also feel like a natural part of your mouth as soon as we bond them to your teeth.
Less invasive: Lumineers preserve more of your natural tooth than porcelain veneers. This is because they are so thin that they require less filing or grinding of the natural teeth they will cover.
Quicker and fewer visits: Lumineers require no temporaries, so you will typically need just two visits to get your new smile – one for fitting and color, and one for application.
Antoine Dental Center chooses only the best veneer materials to give you up to 20 or more years of gorgeous smiles. This doesn’t mean, however, that you can become lax with your oral hygiene. Once you have received your new smile with porcelain veneers or Lumineers veneers, our cosmetic dentist will provide you with instructions to keep them looking their best. Good brushing and flossing habits will keep the teeth underneath healthy and free of plaque and tartar buildup. If you grind your teeth, we may recommend wearing a night guard to reduce the risk of damaging your veneers.
