Tooth decay can be extremely painful. A toothache can just completely ruin your day. But decay can do more than hurt; it can rot away your teeth, leaving you embarrassed to smile.<\/p>\n
The really scary thing about tooth decay is that most people don\u2019t even notice it until it\u2019s in a fairly advanced state.<\/p>\n
To be sure, there are a number of things you can do to prevent tooth decay at home. Regularly brush and floss, stay away from soda, and so forth. But even your best efforts have limitations.<\/p>\n

The American Dental Association recommends that you have your teeth cleaned and examined every six months. This process helps to both detect any tooth decay currently present in your mouth, as well as prevent new tooth decay from forming. We offer same-day dental exams and teeth cleanings to allow you to save time and effort.<\/p>\n
During a dental cleaning, we can remove harmful plaque, tartar, and bacteria from your teeth; this prevents decay<\/a> from forming. Regular brushing and flossing alone is not sufficient to remove all plaque and tartar from the crevices of your mouth; if this bacteria is left unchecked you could end up needing a root canal or other lengthy procedure down the line.<\/p>\n During a dental exam, we will inspect your teeth for signs of decay. Catching decay early can preventing you from losing a tooth, or experiencing terribly painful toothaches. We will also take low-radiation digital x-rays of your mouth to give us a complete map of your dental health, so we know how to best help you.
